    • Cigre B1-58, Convernor, Assessment management of medium voltage cables.

This shall cover the following topics:1.Asset management standards (include ISO 55000) and best-practice methods in MV cable network2. Diagnostic methods used in MV cable network and their economic impact3. Cable diagnostics standards and requirements in electrical tests after both installation and repair work4. Diagnostics in assessing technical condition of cable circuits.5. Management of datareceived from diagnostic tests6. Summary of the experience in development of asset management and diagnosis methods, analysis of development trends.
    • Cigre B1-32, Testing of extruded DC Cables up to 500 kV, TB496

This is the base of IEC  62895
    • Cigre B1-34, Mechanical Forces in Large Conductor Cross-Section XLPE Cables

This TB is a summary of methods given by various experts and guidance to analyse and understand thermo-mechanical forces effects with large conductor cross section XLPE cable systems: It is intended as the proposal of guide to thermo-mechanical design of extruded cable systems with 1000 mm² and greater conductor cross-sections with the objective of increasing reliability and reducing the risk of poor planning and installation. It will be one of the major inputs for the updating of the TB 194.
    • Cigre B1-51, Fire issues of cables installed in air

Recent developments of the practice to install HV cables in air, created a general concern regarding fire safety.
    • This Technical Brochure wants to describe, but also to increase the awareness, that safety is a duty, not an option, and proper design and installation are good investments for the Transmission System Operator.

A summary table is presented as a synthesis of the TB in order to give an overview of the various mitigation systems: the technicians can refer to it as a first screening, to focus on the best solution, according to the expected performance.

The conclusion is to avoid a large disturbance a modest investment which limits material damage and allows fast recovery of the functionality of the system is needed.

    • Cigre B1-55, Additional testing of wet submarine cables

Continuous growth of the offshore renewable market has triggered a desire to increase the inter array cable voltage up to 60 kV (Um = 72.5 kV). Industrial cost pressure has led to cable designs at these voltage levels for HV submarine cables with either non-traditional water barriers or wet cable designs. Existing IEC standards and CIGRE recommendations do not cover all relevant aspects of new cable constructions up to Um=72,5 kV. An IEC Task Force was established to write a new standard covering these types of cables. The Task Force soon recognized that some important topics specific for certain MV cable designs are inadequately covered by these documents. For that reason, the B1.55 Working Group was convened to recommend important tests not covered in the IEC 63026 standard. Future submarine cable system testing shall include the tests recommended in this CIGRE Technical Brochure and those within IEC.
